Always in the making

They say we are what we do and not what we say we will do. I have always been amazed by the butterfly effect, not only in life but in education. It is said  that a single occurence, no matter how small, can change the course of the universe forever. We, as teachers, have a tremendous power to change the world. The minds, lifes, feelings and brains of our students depend, partially, on what we say and do. This is the basis for my teaching and everytime I think about what can I do better or how can I improve as a teacher, I repeat this to myself:  lets change the course os the universe for good. We have huge access to different tools, methods, routines, roles, techniques.. So it is only a matter of time we put on our own profesional development in order to get better as professionals. But, what about the butterflies? How can we be a role model for so many different butterflies? We have to focus on values like respect, tolerance, diversity and love, and the only way to let them know the importance of being a good butterfly in life is to be the butterfly the need to look up to.
It takes the whole village to raise a butterfly-child, so let's do our part!

This are the areas I have to improve in my teaching:
  1. Mindfulness: you would have trouble teaching your children ballet if you had never danced. I need to practise meditation in order to teach children how to meditate. It is only about having the time to do simple things that can change your lifestyle and help you to stay in ctrol of your emotions.
  2. TICs in the classroom: schools have different realities and tools to work with. But it is funtamental to use the technology we have in a proper way. As a teacher, it is important to know 100% how to use the devices I have in my classroom so every subject has a technological aproach.
I could go on and on naming needs in my teaching, but let's start with this two! This is why teaching is always in the making...
